I sit outside her house every night and watch her while she sleeps. No seriously though, I've been told by several that I'm a stalker of Amy Hartzler.
wow personally i don't like her new last name. It ruins the cool effect of her initials. Her full name before marrage was Amy Lynn Lee and her initials spelled ALL
sigh, she might be marriesd but she'll always be amy lee!! she said that to the fans from what I've red in the band at least she'll still go by amy lee!
I want to poke my dad, we saw her in concert, and he said that she looked like an ostrage and sung like a wounded dog, and that she made up the lyrics to her songs while drunk.
grr!! soooo not true. blehhh, what do 50 year olds know anyway, our music isn't their music!!

no joke though. Live, she sucks, big time. Seriously I can stand like four songs off Anywhere but home.
They are absolutely horrendous band, depressing, she can't sing, bereft of melody ideas and think that being depressed is the new cool.
That being said, I'm happy someone likes them so go ahead, but I just had to poin out that I think they suck big time, apart from about 2 or 3 songs, "Bring Me Back to Life" was, and remains, a pretty good song and sort of an anthem of 2006 (or was it 2005).
they rule. simple as that. Amy sucks live though, but so do most bands these days, so yeah...

Lol, you guys go check out the new Metallica album then, the old grand dads are back on spectacular form, just check out the last track, makes one feel like a horney teenager, it's quite liberating.
Bring me to Life was good, there were a few semi decent tracks of that album but Amy has never managed to captivate me, and a generous use of vocoder live can fix most singers, Madonna is used to have practically invented it and she is the biggest user. My music professor said without it she'd sound horrendously off key, apparently he went to a concert of hers where she didn't use it.
I think live recordings, generally, are crap, but if you are actually there live is the most amazing experience, it just does not translate well to your stereo or ipod.

well, a live cd, I saw her in concert, is what I'm talking about, I've never heard her live cd, the only live thing from her I've heard on cd is thoughtless, it wou be good if the band didn't drown her out.
yeah, but as was said above, hearing a live recording and seeing a band live are a totally dfiferent experience. She suuuuuucks on live recordings, but I'm sure the atmosphere of a live performance at a concert or whatever would be more than enough to cancel out any poor vocals or engineering or whatever.

well I mean, can they break up? If you look at their members, it's changed so much. From Amy, Ben, David, will, and Rocky, added John, lost some people, added terry, but he got sick, added tim. It's kind of sketchy.

I have to post in here, because i jsut found this topic.
I absolutely love Evanescence. I've actually managed to find a whole bunch of cd's of there's, and i found some stuff online that was never officially released, a whole bunch of outtakes, etc. Some of my favourite evanescence songs are... let's see. Bring me to life, Imaginary (the origin version), haunted, understanding, Taking Over Me (Fallen Version, )and 99% of the other songs. I agree that some of the live versions were a bit off key, but I love the bring me to life live version, especially the way it starts out.
Oh, and within temptation is also awesome. The first within temptation song I heard had me rushing to find more music, l;ol.

i like the band. i saw on TV a few years ago a live performance from Paris. i thought it was pretty good. There verssion of Korn's Thoughtless was ok, could have been better like said before. But they do a good verssion of Nirvana's Heart Shape Box. I have heard a acoustic and live verssion of the song and sounds pretty good.

lots of things get confused, a song called Angel of Mine, a within Temptation song I can't remember right now...
but for us obsessed fans, I just found the band called We Are the Fallen. I'm not going to post my opinions yet, But go wikipedia them, and look at the song Bury me Alive on youtube. Not the first result though, it's bad quality. Tell me what you think about Evanescence, versus the fallen. I'm interested to see if anyone else agrees with me.
I like them. I hope they do well. Ben mody is with them, but Bury Me Alive is a good song in my opinion.

The thing with Amy's live singing is that she hits most of her notes, but the problem people have with her is she doesn't sing way up with her chest voice live. People say that I don't sing well because I respect my vocal cords. No matter how good the notes, I won't shriek them, and I'm an alto--people don't like altos, they like people who can sing like Kelly Clarkson, basically sopranos who try to sing soprano like altos. Some of the notes Amy hits in her albums, she probably can hit that way, but I'm betting she records one to three songs at a time. Imagine going to a concert and singing like that for more than an hour. It's why Miley Cyrus sounds terrible--she tried that, and poof went her vocal cords.
She's off key in Whisper because they made her sing another one...bet if you tried to sing that loud for that long you'd be damn off key too lol. Believe me, I once decided that as an experiment, back when I was soprano, I'd try to sing Farther Away...there's some ridiculous notes in there lol, that's hard for nearly anyone to do. I'm not totally defending her because she has horrendously off-key bits she could do better, even loudly, even live, but it's sort of like people who want to look perfect. She's asking more of her vocal cords than most people's can give at all.

I'm not sure, I'll Google it. And I think this new album is the rope they can hang themselves with or tie knots with. And We Are The Fallen try to sound just like Evanescence, even if they say they don't.
I totally agree with the last poster. We Are The Fallen is an Evanescence clone. I also agree that this new album is gonna make or break them, and honestly I'm thinking it's the latter. Who knows though, I could be pleasantly surprised. When I looked on Wikipedia, it said the album will probably be out by late summer, but no date has been set yet.
Well, Together Again, a single recently released that was an outtake from The Open Door, was completely different from most stuff on that album. The only thing it's remotely similar to is The Only One, and that's not by much. It's much more eerie and ethereal, and they need to take that style and make it better.
I agree with the poster who said this album will probably break them. that's certainly not what I want, but I think that's how it'll pan out.
Hopefully not, I love them and will buy it even if it sucks, which so far their stuff hasn't, but I could be wrong. I'll wait and see. I'm excited though, yay!
are we talking about the WATF album being bad? If so, I don't think it is; I have it. It's a good strong album with a good mix of rock and soft stuff. I love evanescence, I really do, but together again sucked in my opinion. she doesn't have the choral backing vocals down in that song, and she needs to quit remixing parts of other songs into new ones. together again is from the beginning of good enough. I don't think ev's sound is conducive to hard rock. I much prefer their older more etheareal music. WATF is the rocker band. If Amy goes back to her older style, or takes her band in a new direction, that'd be great. But though her vocals are nice for rock, the band's sound so far just doesn't measure up to the power of WATF.
Has anyone heard evanescences track zero? its, interesting. Not sure what album its off of but its interesting. I like it.

Like most of you, this next Evanescence album will make or break them. As for We Are The Fallen? They're ... ok, but not off the wall great. I think they will hang in for maybe 1 or 2 more albums, but that's it. I really liked Ben Moody's solo album, and I hope he does another.
